Dear Dr. Tamme,
I don't understand why my buddy gets all the girls
when I'm the nice guy. I always end up being the
"crying shoulder". How can I get a little less crying
and a little more action?

Dear Nick,
This situation clearly demonstrates two points. You
simply are the NICE GUY and you have the perfect
shoulder!
Women are truly grateful that the nice guy
does indeed exist and that when the bottom falls out
in their relationships the nice guy has a comforting shoulder.
Your position here is one of HONOR.
Unfortunately, it takes some women time to realize
that maybe it would be better for them if they just
skipped the "JERK" and went straight to the nice guy
for a meaningful relationship void of unnecessary pain
and suffering.
You are the type of guy who will end up
with a woman who is considerably wiser and well worth
the wait. Hang in there...she will come along soon.
